The National Instruments PC/104-GPIB interface card is a low-cost, high-performance IEEE 488 interface in the PC/104 module. The NI TNT4882C ASIC makes the NI PC/ 104-GPIB the highest performance IEEE 488.2 interface board for industrial environments. The TNT4882C chip performs the basic IEEE 488 speaker, listener, and controller functions required by the IEEE 488.2 standard. The standard PC/104-GPIB is a 16-bit PC/104 interface. An 8-bit version is also available.

The PC/104-GPIB GPIB instrument control unit is functionally identical to the conventional AT-GPIB/TNT. Both devices have register and software compatibility. The GPIB unit can be equipped with a 20-inch ribbon cable. Free terminating panel mounted standard GPIB connectors for ribbon cables. As a result, users can easily connect PC/104-GPIB to up to 14 instruments via standard GPIB cables. If you are willing to connect more than 14 instruments to a single system, you can purchase a bus extender or extender from NI.
The device provides a fully plug-and-play 32-bit multitasking driver. This industrial-grade GPIB instrument control unit is equipped with 11 jumpers for selectable breaks and 3 16-bit DMA channels. NI PC/104-GPIB can be easily installed and configured on most Microsoft Windows versions of the operating system. When operating in a standard configuration, the device requires 50 mA to 100 mA of power. The NI PC/ 104-GPIB device provides speeds of > 1.5 MB/ s in interlocking grip mode and > 1.6 MB/ s in non-interlocking grip mode (HS488).
