GE Fanuc Field Control IC670CBL002 Base connection cable is an optional 54.61 cm (21 in) length wire for interconnecting GE Fanuc terminals using keying terminals. It is manufactured by GE Fanuc as an extension kit to solve the common problem of interconnecting 2 terminal blocks on the same panel that are usually further apart than the terminals in the standard setup. Due to the different electrical characteristics of the longer and shorter cables, each GE Fanuc field control station is allowed to use only one of these IC670CBL002 base connection cables.

The GE Fanuc IC670CBL002 Base connection cable comes pre-assembled at the factory with a keyed connector designed to prevent misconnections. It can be used to interconnect 2 GE Fanuc terminals to each other, or to interconnect a single GE Fanuc terminal to its corresponding BIU (bus interface unit). The GE Fanuc IC670CBL002 Base connection cable comes with a braided ground wire designed to be used as ESD protection. The cable must be connected to zero voltage at both ends (ground or chassis) to provide effective immunity to electrical interference or external noise. This 21-inch expansion cable should be installed to avoid interrupting the data flow between modules and to respect the connection polarity of each base. If the cable is connected to the top connector of one base, it should be plugged into the bottom connector of the next base.
