The IC200MDD840 is part of Emerson Automation's VersaMax product family, formerly known as the GE Intelligence Platform (GE IP). This module is specifically designed for combined I/O modules with embedded discrete input and output circuits, such as ten (10) positive logic 24 VDC inputs and twelve (12) Type A or normally open (N.O.) contact outputs. The maximum backplane current consumption of this module is 375 mA.


The input channels are arranged in two (2) groups of ten (10) input channels each. Input features include input voltage compatibility for 0-30 VDC and 24 VDC nominal voltages; The on-state voltage is +15 to +30 VDC; The off state voltage is 0 to 0.5 mA; The typical on/off signal conversion delay is 0.5 ms (maximum) and the input impedance is 10k ohms (maximum). The input channels have configurable filtering times that can be used for both electronic and mechanical noise input channels to eliminate false positive and false negative signals. These filter times include 0 ms, 1.0 ms, and 0.7 ms, with 1.0 ms as the default.


The relay output channels are arranged in two (2) groups of six (6) channels each. The rated current of contact output is at least 10mA per point; Max. 8.0A per module; 2.0 amps, 5 to 265VAC, maximum for resistive loads; 2.0 amps, 5 to 30 VDC, maximum for resistive loads, 0.2 amps, 31 to 125 VDC, maximum when used with resistors. The relay type of the module is fixed coil, moving armature and silver alloy contact type.


The IC200MDD840 discrete I/O module, a product of GE Intelligent Platform /GE Fanuc and a member of the Versamax product family, offers 12 relay outputs and 20 discrete inputs. The input of the GE Fanuc IC200MDD840 module is divided into 2 lines with 10 inputs per line. These input points have an active pole type and a positive logic type, but they usually receive current from the connected device and then return current at the common end. In addition, the 12 relay outputs on the discrete I/O module are divided into 2 groups of 6 points each, each of which can withstand currents of up to 8 amps. The module measures approximately 4.3 x 2.63 x 1.956 inches, but these measurements do not include the height of the carrier or fitting connection.


The GE Fanuc IC200MDD840 split I/O module draws power directly from the rack-mounted backplane, but an external power supply is required for all output loads. It operates with an input voltage of 24 volts DC and an output voltage of 0 to 125 volts DC and 0 to 265 volts AC. When I/O is on, the IC200MDD840 module is rated from 2.0 to 5.5 mA, while when I/O is off, it is rated from 0 to 0.5 Ma. The module is processed by the network interface unit (NIU) and the Central processing unit (CPU) in the PLC system. However, the IC200MDD840 module does not have protection like the internal fuse and does not support inter-channel isolation.
