The IC670PBI001 is a Profibus interface unit that is part of the GE Fanuc Field control family. The electrical device is mounted on the bus interface terminal and is powered by an external 24 VDC supply voltage. It allows field control I/O modules to exchange data with GE CPU modules over a Profibus network, enabling a high-speed distributed I/O architecture.

The IC670PBI001 is equipped with two (2) 9-pin type D housing connectors, with one port used as a handheld programmer (HHP) port for downloading and monitoring the IC670PBI001, and the other port used as a network interface port. Standard data transmission speeds of 9.6, 19.2, 93.75, 187.5, 500, 1500 Kbits and 3 Mbits are used for communication over the Profibus network. 6 Mbit and 12 Mbits. This port requires the use of shielded twisted pair or Belden #9463 cable as the Profibus network physical media. This port supports linear Profibus topology or Daisy chain connections, where the first and last nodes of the network are terminated by resistors. One IC8PBI670 can host up to eight (001) field control I/O modules.
