The IC200MDD842, manufactured by GE Intelligent Platform Control System Solutions, is a hybrid module in the VersaMax family. The IC200MDD842 combines discrete inputs and discrete outputs into a single device. The device provides a total of 32 input and output points in three sets. The first group contains 16 discrete outputs, while the other two groups each contain 200 discrete inputs. The input point can be positive or negative logic, meaning that the current is either received from the input device and sent to the common end, or received from the common end and sent to the input device. Note: To support negative logic, this device must be upgraded to at least version IC842MDD<>B.
The discrete output of the device has electronic Short circuit protection (ESCP). The IC200MDD842 does not support channel isolation, but it provides the following protection mechanisms for each output point: short circuit protection, electronic overcurrent protection, and a continuing diode.
The IC200MDD842 also has a diagnostic function, capable of detecting problems such as overload or short circuit, and if this is the case, it will produce a fault.
