The IC697CMM741 is an Ethernet programmable controller in the 90-70 series. The IC697CMM741 controller is a member of the IC651 factory LAN hardware and software product family. The system provides high-performance solutions for interconnected automation controllers. The IC697CMM741 controller is designed to fit into a slot in the IC697 PLC rack. The IC697CMM741 controller allows the PLC to be connected directly to the IEEE 802.3CSMA /CD LAN. It comes with a standard 15-pin AUI port connection and is designed for the IC697 controller. AUI or transceiver cables can be supplied by the user. It uses a single slot in the PLC rack, and the software is easy to load and/or upgrade. In addition, the software can be stored for at least six months during a power outage.


When installing the IC697CMM741 controller into the PLC frame, power off the frame. Connect the battery to the front cover facing forward and the hinge to the right. The latch of the battery cable should face away from the surface of the plate. Once the battery is connected to one of the connectors, it can be locked by simply pressing. Insert the controller into the appropriate slot (usually the first slot on the right side of the CPU or BTM). Do not push the board when it is locked. Note that if there is a vacant slot on the left of the Ethernet controller, the Ethernet controller cannot work properly. Note: The green ground wire must be securely attached to the chassis of the rack, and the rack must be grounded to ensure LAN function.


The IC697CMM741 interface device is manufactured by GE Fanuc in its 90-70 series product line for use as an interface to TCP/IP Ethernet LAN devices or GE 90-70 series MMS devices. The IC697CMM741 interface is also an Ethernet controller, which can connect the PLC directly to a LAN such as IEEE 802.3CSMA /CD LAN. The Ethernet controller is designed for GE 90-70 series IC 697 programmable controllers and can be securely installed by simply installing 1 slot in the PLC rack. The software used by the IC697CMM741 Ethernet controller can be easily loaded or upgraded with RAM, and the controller can retain its software for at least six months after a power outage. The software it can use includes TCP/IP and MMS/OSI communication software, complete Windows and DOS programming and communication software, and software for full diagnostics and site management.


GE Series 90-70 IC697CMM741 Ethernet controllers and interfaces can be connected to the transceiver device via a user-supplied transceiver cable or an AUI (Connection Unit Interface) cable via its standard Type D connector with 15 pins. Cables and transceivers are how an Ethernet controller connects to an Ethernet LAN. The user can monitor the status of the controller interface through the controller's 3 leds. The RAM in the IC697CMM741 Ethernet controller uses batteries for backup, and the RAM stores all communication software. The controller and interface device also have ROM and firmware for storing the basic functions, configuration software, and diagnostic functions for their use.
